also South America by Joy Bryant

 Wednesday 2 May 2018

Joy made a trip to South America last year with this talk mainly on her time in Peru and Brazil.

Waingaro Forks Hut

Kahurangi National Park

  Saturday - Sunday 5-6 May 2018

(Moderate)

The Cobb Road is closed, so the trip for the weekend of 5-6 May has been changed.

Instead we’ll leave Richmond early on the morning of Saturday 5 May to drive over the Takaka Hill, and then walk the Killdevil Track to camp by Waingaro Forks Hut (4 bunks), and return the same way on Sunday 6 May.

Moderate – 7 hours each way.

If enough people prefer to have a three day trip, some could leave on Friday 4 May and have a side trip to Lake Stanley on Saturday, and all return on Sunday

Contact David S. 544 1573

Transport cost $19

Mt Hope

Kahurangi National Park

 Sunday 13 May 2018

From Boulder Creek on SH6 between Glenhope and Kawatiri, walk up an unmaintained route to this 1244m summit amongst large granite rocks taking about 3½ hours. Return the same way.

NOTE: Sunday not Saturday as in original programme
